First run with the motor!
The water is so clear at Fort Pierce;
The reason is because of there’s an inlet close by.
Second try with the motor; third time it worked!

 Our next stop was in Port St. Lucie. We went to our friend’s house, Agan and Stephanie Alkan and their son, Ruger.  They have a beautiful home on a canal.  We were able to tie up behind their house. While we were there, we were able to complete the routine maintenance on the boat at Bay Shore Marine.  The guys there did an incredible job!  We couldn’t  have asked for better unscheduled and timely service!  Plus, the price was unbeatable!

We had a good time with the Alkan family.  Agan took us to a biker bar party, right next door to the boat shop. That was a fun night - great music, food and nice people!  We also enjoyed meeting neighbors at a block party.  Again, very nice people!

Agan and Stephanie have a boat, so we made a trip to Peanut Island in Palm Springs. It was a great marina but holy smokes - probably the most expensive we have been to!  We pulled into a slip for restaurant parking, then decided to stay the night. When we initially asked about the price of the slip, we were told,  “$270.00.”  Of course, we moved to a smaller slip - no electricity or water, and it was still $120.00.  But it was fun, great food and we saw Peanut Island - and we couldn’t ask for better company!

While in Port St. Lucie, I was able to fly home for a week - so nice to see Sydney!  I really have missed her.  I guess you don’t realize how much you do miss your kids until you see them.  I talk to her and Eli a lot every week, but it’s just not the same.  I was also able to visit with friends - always nice to see them!  However, the flight home was nuts - cancelled flight at 1:45 am, finding an Uber, blah, blah, blah, but it all worked out.

While I was home, Jeff went to a super car show with Agan and Ruger.  We’re talking super cars - Pagani, Lamborghini, and some cars he had never heard of.  Some of them were all exposed carbon fiber - beautiful cars!  All of the streets were lined with red carpet - for the cars!  Jeff said it was quite the experience! After the car show, he went to enjoy a Super Bowl party and enjoyed a Tomahawk Ribeye!  What?  I should have went home a different week.

Jeff also went to an Italian Festival at a community called Tradition in Port St. Lucie.  He had a great time with Agan and his friends - smoking big cigars and drinking Stella.  Even though I wasn’t there, Stephanie took me to Tradition.  We enjoyed shopping at Target and had lunch at a great little taco place.

Also, it seems like eons ago, but our good friends, John and Mary Davidson came to visit.  We rented an Airbnb in Port St. Lucie.  We had a great time!  John, our gourmet chef, prepared meals for us the entire time - and man, it was delicious!  Plus, it was nice to see friends from home!  We enjoyed a boat ride to Stuart, Florida - super, cute town!

My friend Brenda Carter and her cousin, Dawn and Wayne actually were on a Florida trip while we were here.  We were able to meet up with them at Road Runner Resort - a RV Park in Fort Pierce that Jeff and I stayed at last year with the camper.  Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie are really close. Agan and Stephanie were so kind to lend us a vehicle so it was easy to go see them.  While there, there was an Rv’er from last year, Jack, that we had met.  I’ll just say there were some unforgettable moments here.
