Back on the water!



So after 1.5 years, we have Boomerang back in the water. After finishing the Loop, we built a house and are finally getting to go boating again. Two days ago, we trailered the boat to Gilbertsville, KY and stayed at The Moors Resort for two nights. It was a nice marina and costs $1.50 a foot. They told us they had power and water at the slips - but there was no water and only a 110 outlet, but we made do. And although they said they had bath houses, there were no showers! But what they did have was a very nice delicious, reasonably priced restaurant. We both enjoyed the Mahi Mahi with Mango salsa. 

After two days, we cruised to Buzzard Rock Marina in Kuttawa, KY. Its was a peaceful day on the lake, not much traffic. Buzzard Rock Marina has showers! Although our slip didn’t have water or power, we were able to connect to both at a vacant slip close by. We’ve already met Billy, who completed the loop in 2017. He’s invited us to dinner on his boat tonight. He seems very nice!

And it’s Mother’s Day - I spoke with both of my kids this weekend. That’s the best!

           This is more our speed of home. Super cute!
      The gold flag looks good - it means we completed the loop. While you’re on your first loop, you fly a white flag. If you complete it twice, you would fly a platinum colored flag.

If you look closely, you can see the difference in the water from
Kentucky Lake vs. Lake Barkley. Lake Barkley looked more muddy. 
At the restaurant at Buzzard Rock, they gave all Mom’s Strawberry Shortcake!

   We met Billy, a looper, who had a dog named Shy.

      We've finally taken the plunge - that could be a bad play on words.  Let’s say, we’ve finally purchased our looper boat. We've been on a quest to find a boat, for a couple of months now. We've traveled more than 3000 miles in search of the perfect one. We had certain criteria (budget, seaworthy, dinghy, A/C, heat, trailer, electronics, bed, toilet, galley, tall ceiling for Jeff, etc.) and we located one in Webster, New York (near Rochester).  We traveled there twice to get this boat - once by plane and then by truck. It’s a 14 hour drive, but she fit the bill, so we had to go. It’s a Rosborough 246, trailerable, 25 ft., single, outboard engine (Honda 225) small, cabin cruiser.  She’s in great shape, clean and ready to go!  The previous owner took great pride in ownership and we were lucky to find her, just in time! Hammond, Indiana

So much beach glass on found on the beach. Jodie and I had coffee after our haircuts! Bulldog Brewery- we spent a few days. Docktails Me, Pam (Sea the USA) and Jackie (Sidetrip) “AGLCA looper beer”       This is Sue from SunDancer. We finally met! At their  home port, they were on the same dock with  our friends,                                 Smile With the Risin’ Sun.                               Full moon over the marina.  We made it to The Hammond Marina in Hammond, Indiana. This is where we sit to stage our entrance into the river system again. This marina is at Horseshoe Casino - and they smoke in there.
