Saugatuck, Michigan

I wish I would have gotten a better picture of this floating fun
                            Inflatable that you could rent.

Such a big boat in the Kalamazoo River.
Downtown Saugatuck - I could go back here!

Beautiful cruising on Lake Michigan.  Sand dunes all
Down the coast!
A passenger cruise passed us on the Kalamazoo River.

                                       Walking to town.

So, I pictured Saugatuck as a sleepy little town. Boy was I wrong. It was so vibrant, artsy and full of everything these downtowns provide. We only stayed one night, but I would love to come back.  It was a bit of walk to town but easy to do. We walk a lot and it’s nice to stretch the legs after being in the boat.

We arrived in Saugatuck on September 13, 2023. Our friend, Mark, Uggeri, who also has a Rosborough named Pronto,  had said we could stay in his slip at Turner Marina. It as a safe Harbor Marina and very nice.  We docked in his slip and decided to stay an additional day. However when we texted Mark the following morning, he said the Dock master had already contacted him and said the slip was three dollars a foot. So, since they were going to charge Mark, we paid $75 for the slip and left the following day. If we ever boated there again, I would check out the Municipal marina. So far the municipal marinas have been reasonably priced with good amenities and most in great locations.

We found Wally’s Bar and Grill. A great location in the downtown area with seating right near the sidewalk - great people watching.  The beer was good and we shared some nachos - they were pretty good and huge portions!
