Jim, Jeff and Jim                    We’re in an observation tower at the zoo.                                      Those nachos!                          Makes me want pigmy goats again!                 The view from the lookout tower at the zoo.        The lighthouse as we’re entering Michigan City Harbor.  We made it out of Michigan and into Indiana - getting a bit closer to home! Michigan City was a nice stop. We stayed three nights - weather allowed us to stay and visit. The marina was nice - clean bathrooms and laundry. It was gated too.We had an excellent slip, right next to the bathroom and close to green space for Traxx. Close tot he marina was a long, wide beach - another great spot for Traxx. There was also an outlet mall, with a lot of stores! There was even a zoo - Washington Park Zoo - in Michigan City! We were in the marina with our friends, Jeff and Pam on Sea the USA, Shelly and Chuck on Chenial and we met up with Tom and Diane on Beachside. We also met Don and Dusty o

Another beach    Near the downtown area, Silver Beach, is also quite lovely.          It has a huge splash park, carousel and kid’s museum. I had heard St. Joe was a neat place! Actually, some people (Ashley - “send it” from trip in Savannah) I know had been here about a week prior and they loved it! N

South Haven, Michigan was another lovely town! We arrived September 14 and stayed 2 nights; could have stayed longer! A quaint downtown area, full of shops, restaurants, pubs and a couple of wineries! The marina was great - good price, nice showers, a boaters lounge and free, brewed coffee every morning!  Such a nice change from our typical instant coffee we usually have! We had a lovely cruise to South Haven - calm, flat water with big, fluffy clouds in the sky. The water here on Lake Michigan is gorgeous. It’s Caribbean blue. We’re just minus dolphins,

I wish I would have gotten a better picture of this floating fun                             Inflatable that you could rent.                    Such a big boat in the Kalamazoo River. Boy was I wrong. It was so vibrant, artsy and full of everything these downtowns provide. We only stayed one night, but I would love to come back.  It was a bit of walk to town but easy to do. We walk a lot and it’s nice to stretch the legs after being in the boat. We arrived in Saugatuck on September 13, 2023. Our friend, Mark, Uggeri, who also has a Rosborough named Pronto,  had said we could stay in his slip at Turner Marina. It as a safe Harbor Marina and very nice.  We dock

Downtown street of Grand Haven.                          The “Abstract Pedestrian” statue.                                        Nice sidewalks.                    Another statue near the boardwalk area.                 This is a boardwalk area - only for pedestrians.           During summer months, a light show is displayed.  The light show ended after Labor Day - so this is all we saw.                                             Elks Lodge.                                      Oddside Brewery.  Somebody snapped this picture as we were entering the channel  We arrived in Grand Haven, Michigan on 09/10/23 and only stayed one night.  We stayed at the municipal, which was really stretched out along the shore but still was a quick walk to town. The town was very nice and we could have stayed longer, however, tomorrow is a great travel day so we’ll move. The good thing about this faster boat is we can get to a place quickly and have time to explore.  Grand Haven ha
