Montibello, ON

Not my photo - but it’s a picture of the Chateau Montebello.
You can tell how smoky it is.  Our friends, Stay Cool, took the picture.
A wedding and event venue.
Haven’t seen many of these - has a slot for credit cards.
                                     Good cheese here.
We went for dinner - celebratory drinks!
                                    Tables were pretty!

We went to Montebello for one night. It’s a city on the Ottawa River, famous for the Fairmont Chateau Resort and Spa.  The resort just so happens to have transient boat slips too.  It’s a log cabin structure resort with heated pool, beautiful grounds and an upscale restaurant. It’s beautiful! However, the price was pretty upscale too!

We stayed at the Montebello Municipal Marina.  The marina wasn’t fancy, by any means, but it was fine.  It was a nice place for Traxx too, with some green space available. We were within walking distance to the small town and enjoyed dinner that evening.

If I recall correctly, it was pretty smoky as we were cruising to Montebello.  There’s been a lot of wildfires in Canada, even affecting the air quality in the New York harbor.  It was also a bit breezy. It’s always nice to have some help with docking the boat, especially when it’s windy or there’s current.
