Lock 1 Marina and Fort Edward Lock Wall
There’s an immature Eagle in the tree.
Some homes along the waterway.
A home in an island!
So pretty.
A bridge we will go under. If the bridge is less than 10 feet, we don’t need it raised.
You can see us coming up to the lock and also see the dam
We’re seeing lots of ducks!
We locked through and then docked to let Traxx off to potty.
I love these narrow channels.
Canada geese.

👈 Lake Erie or Lake Champlain? 👉 I hadn’t seen these before!🤣
Lock 1 Marina bathrooms.
We stayed at Lock 1 Marina overnight, to be ready to enter our first New York lock at Waterford, NY. We’ve made good time actually - a few boats are ahead of us. The majority of loopers take the Lake Erie router, whereas we’re taking the Lake Champlain route, through the Richelieu River and ultimately to Montréal.
The marina we stayed at was nice, with showers and laundry. It was a nice setting and the owner took Jeff to town to pick up a little beer. There really was nowhere to go but we relaxed and lounged around. They had nice chairs and benches sitting around. It was a decent place for Traxx.
Tomorrow we will go through 6 locks, beginning at Waterford (two locks), through Mechanicville, NY (four locks)and stay at a free wall in Fort Edward, NY. The locks are free this year; not sure why, and there are free dock walls to tie to. Some of the dock walls have power and even showers! We’ll take it!
