Shore Point Marina and Great Kills Yacht Club

 Beautiful sunsets!
This swan, at Great Kills Yacht Club, came right up to the boat.
He was probably hungry.

                                The Manasquan Inlet

The closer to the inlet, the rougher it got; but it really wasn’t bad.

Shore Point Marina is located in Pine Beach, New Jersey.  It’s  where we decided to wait for a good weather window so we can go off shore and cruise up the east coast.  We’re getting ready to cruise into the New York Harbor. We’re traveling with Malcom and Rachel on Stay Cool, as well as Matt on Seaview.  We met Matt at Green Turtle Bay, where we first began our loop.  We also saw him at Sunbury and now here.  They call that “Loop” frog!

It was a nice marina  and luckily, we didn’t wait long at Shore Point Marina, only two nights. We were able to travel through the Manasquan Inlet and right up the east coast to Great Kills, NY. Sometimes, inlets can be rough!  But we picked the best time, going out with the tide/current; and the wind was in our favor too!  You don’t want to travel if the current and wind are opposite of each other - makes it too sporty for our liking.  The water was smooth - it was a great day.

We made it to Great Kills Yacht Club. This was a nice place.  Guys were there to help us with docking, catching our lines and helping us tie up.  The price for right and the bar had inexpensive drinks, both wine and beer.  Tomorrow we will cruise the New York Harbor!
