Full moon - Ingram Bay
Potluck at Ingram Bay Ingram Bay Marina
We finally found a weather window and left Portsmouth, VA. Our first stop was a marina, Ingram Marina, in a town called Heathsville,VA. We traveled with some looper friends, Bob and Mary, on Changing Latitudes. We just met them in Portsmouth. They’re a really nice couple, on a Ranger Tug.
Ingram Bay turned out to be a great stop! It seemed to be in a rural setting, with really nowhere to go, but it was a nice place. It’s also a designated hurricane hole - great place to be in hurricane weather. It had clean showers, laundry and the owners were so nice! The night we arrived, they were having a potluck with the locals. We had some authentic Mexican food - it was delicious. It was also a full moon!
The next day, we headed to Solomon’s Island, Maryland. We stayed at the Solomon’s Island Yacht Club - very nice place to be in the middle of town! Plus, there were a lot of loopers here!
The town is cute with a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. We only stayed one night there, as the weather was good, so we had to travel - travel on good days - that’s what you do!
