 We cruised to Savannah, Georgia on April 13. I had been to Savannah previously with a bunch of girls, celebrating a good friend’s 60th birthday.  It was such a nice place, a great walking city, had an awesome waterfront and we had a blast  - fun memories!   We sat in a restaurant on the waterfront, watching the huge cargo ships traveling the waterfront.  They were so massive!

  I had wanted Jeff to see Savannah too and I thought it would be so cool to cruise right downtown to where the cargo ships travel.  Plus, it was a free walk, with power, water and you were right downtown.  So, that’s what we did.  But, it’s one thing to see those cargo ships from land verses seeing them coming right at you!  I had to put on my lifejacket - it was a little scary!
So many big ships in really a pretty narrow space. But we made it fine, of course - a little freaky and now I chuckle when I think about it.  

  We had a good time in Savannah.  It helped that I had been before.  It’s a neat place to see.  The only thing was it was little disconcerting staying on the wall that night - we kept thinking, what if we come untied or somebody unties us?  I’m pretty sure we set the anchor alarm that night!

Back on the water!

So after 1.5 years, we have Boomerang back in the water. After finishing the Loop, we built a house and are finally getting to go boating again. Two days ago, we trailered the boat to Gilbertsville, KY and stayed at The Moors Resort for two nights. It was a nice marina and costs $1.50 a foot. They told us they had power and water at the slips - but there was no water and only a 110 outlet, but we made do. And although they said they had bath houses, there were no showers! But what they did have was a very nice delicious, reasonably priced restaurant. We both enjoyed the Mahi Mahi with Mango salsa.  After two days, we cruised to Buzzard Rock Marina in Kuttawa, KY. Its was a peaceful day on the lake, not much traffic. Buzzard Rock Marina has showers! Although our slip didn’t have water or power, we were able to connect to both at a vacant slip close by. Boomerang - 09/13/2022

      We've finally taken the plunge - that could be a bad play on words.  Let’s say, we’ve finally purchased our looper boat. We've been on a quest to find a boat, for a couple of months now. We've traveled more than 3000 miles in search of the perfect one. We had certain criteria (budget, seaworthy, dinghy, A/C, heat, trailer, electronics, bed, toilet, galley, tall ceiling for Jeff, etc.) and we located one in Webster, New York (near Rochester).  We traveled there twice to get this boat - once by plane and then by truck. It’s a 14 hour drive, but she fit the bill, so we had to go. It’s a Rosborough 246, trailerable, 25 ft., single, outboard engine (Honda 225) small, cabin cruiser.  She’s in great shape, clean and ready to go!  The previous owner took great pride in ownership and we were lucky to find her, just in time!
