Vero Beach

                             Fishing in the mangroves.
                                   Mangrove Snapper.
                                          Jack Crevalle.
                                           Sheepshead.
                                     Mangrove Snapper.
                                             Snook.
We went to Vero Beach to meet up with Mark and Patti Denny. Jeff has been friends with them since grade school.  When we first started dating, we ran around them quite a bit; then they moved to Florida.  It’s always nice to catch up with old friends. We enjoyed dinner - delicious, blackened Snook - at their home.  So nice!

Mark also took us fishing.  We caught so many fish; only one keeper and we ended up throwing it back.  It was a great day!

In Vero, we stayed at Vero Beach City Marina.  It had all the amenities, showers, laundry, electric and water. Everything was clean.  There’s a bus that will take you to town, however, Mark took us to get groceries.  There’s also a big dog park close by - Traxx enjoyed that.  We walked through a nice residential area - big older homes with manicured yards which led us to the beach.  It was a few blocks to get there, but worth it.  A restaurant, River’s Edge is within walking distance and offers a nice view of the water.

While in Vero, Roger and Crissy on the boat, Egret, pulled in.  We had traveled with them on the rivers.  It was nice to see them again but we weren’t able to meet up for dinner.  Hopefully, we’ll meet up on the east coast again.
