New Smyrna

New Smyrna Beach.
The dock hand wanted us the opposite way initially, but the motor wouldn’t fit between the pilings.  So the bow is between the pilings - made it easy to leave.

We met this other Rosborough as we were leaving - Fire and Ice
                                  The marina at night.
This was near the beach.
The Garlic - the restaurant we went to.
Jim, Jerry, Beth, myself and Jeff.                                                                                        We arrived at New Smyrna on March 7 and stayed 2 nights at the New Smyrna Beach City Marina.  It was tricky docking and the dock hand wasn’t a lot of help; basically he had us pull in, bow first and then Jeff was supposed to get the stern in with his motor.  The problem was that Boomerang wouldn’t fit!  However, we made it work - just docking the opposite way than we had originally planned.  Jeff is pretty good with docking now.

It was an ok marina ($62.00 a night) with showers, laundry, but no pump-out or gas, but it was within walking distance to the cute little town of New Smyrna. And for $1.75 per person, you could hop on a city bus and go to the beach, which had a cute town feeling with restaurants, bars and shops lining the street!  It was the best of both worlds!

While in New Smyrna, we met up with Jerry Betz, his wife, Beth and friend, Jim. Jerry and Jim were the first loopers we ever met.  We met them at Green Turtle Bay when we began our journey, back on Kentucky Lake - seems like eons ago; it was November 3, 2022.

We had a great time with Jerry, Beth and Jim.  They took us to a great restaurant, The Garlic.  It was huge and such a cool place! And the food was great!  Jerry also took us to Publix so we could stock up.

We’re having a great time. We’ve settled in and have our routine.  We love seeing different places and meeting so many wonderful people.  Next stop will be Palm Coast.
