On March 1, 2023 and we arrived in Melbourne, Florida.  The cool thing about the loop, besides meeting so many boaters doing the exact same thing as you, is the small towns you encounter throughout the way; and Melbourne was a great town.

We stayed at Melbourne Harbor Marina. It was a nice marina with all of the amenities - electric, water, showers, laundry, fixed docks but no tides. It was $69.20 a night and we stayed 4 nights. Ichabod’s Restaurant was located at the marina and it was delicious!  For staying at the marina, we received 3, 10% off coupons and used all of them.  We loved the Grouper Bites appetizer and split a meal of blackened Snapper, with a cream seafood stuffing on top, plus lobster macaroni and cheese, one night and it was only $19.95 - so good - in price and taste - on of the best meals we’ve had!

We’re traveling with our friend Nagui Matti.  His boat, Boundless, is just like ours.  We traveled with him down the rivers too. He’s very nice. We also had the pleasure of meeting his girlfriend, Anne Marie.  She came to cruise with him for bit.

We had a small “Rosborough” gathering.  Mike and Melissa Read, have a Rosborough boat named Time and Tide.  They came to Melbourne and had dinner with us and Boundless.  Of course, we ate at Ichabod’s and then chatted about our boats, as well as upcoming travel.  Mike and Melissa were a wealth of information.

While in Melbourne, harbor hosts, John and Sharon Noll reached out, asking if we needed anything. A harbor host is a person who is willing to help out, in anyway, a fellow looper.  Although, we weren’t in need of anything, Nagui (Anne Marie had to fly home), Jeff and I met them, walked to downtown Melbourne and enjoyed dinner and drinks.

I forgot to mention I was able to see a rocket launch in Melbourne.  It was a 6 man crew going up. Granted, I had to get up at 1:30 am, but it was pretty cool!  We don’t get to see them in southern Illinois, although I have seen satellites shooting across the sky in southern Illinois.

Thanks for reading and we love your comments!
